(More customer reviews)The top layer is a silky mesh - like gym shorts. It successfully keeps the baby from feeling wet - great if your little one is starting to sleep for longer stretches at night. The other layers are terrycloth. I'm not sure what the point of those layers are. They don't really add any extra absorbency. I think $5 for one liner is a bit overpriced, but it's a nice little liner to have in my stash.
